Obvious that your diabolical sanding / polishing plan is a success.  Did you start with 220?

Chad

Started with 120 to take the highs off then switched to 220 to get everything flat. Then worked my way up 320,400,600,800,1000,1500,2000,2500. Then buffed with finesse II.

That's nerve wrecking work, just enough to make it smooth, but not too much to cut into the flake.  Your arm's are going to look Popeye after that workout!

Looks fantastic, curious to know your process.  Appears to be 2-3 gel black, then 4 coats clear gel with flake, then 4-6 coats clear gel over that?  I'm just curious how many coats of clear do you need to have to allow finishing flat as you have done.    I know automotive painting better than gel, but both your work and Joe's have me having second thoughts which way to go.

Looks great Jeff.   Do you have or will be needing new flappers for the exhaust trumpets?   I will need a set eventually, curious to know where to find good ones.

New gauges cleaned up nice !

What do people use to get the white letters painted? I tried to do mine and it was a mess as the letters weren't very deep.

The gauges are original to the boat. Just polished the face

I'm talking about the white letters on the gauge panel. The stamped letters.

I need to look at mine, but I was thinking the white lettering earning about fumes in the bilge were silkscreen printed, or maybe stencil painted?  I found a way to print direct transfer lettering to mine, but I may just forgo the letters altogether.  I assume that's the white letters you are referring to?

Oh sorry. Those where original to the panel.
I just cleaned it and sprayed 3 coats of adhesion promoter and a couple of coats of semi gloss lacquer.

Thinking Mike is right on abound stencil.
