Thursday Night - Pizza by the fire?
« on: August 07, 2012, 11:05:54 PM »
Anyone want to do a group pizza by the Fire Thursday night?  (Gotta be a local pizza joint Tim can recommend.)

Just throwing it out there...we'll have what, 6 or 7 early arrivals?  If everyone wants to fend for themselves, no problem!

( 3-(Dan & Family), 2- (Brandon & Amber), 2-(Brian & Lisa), 1-(Barb), 2-(Chris K & Lawson), 2-(Terry, Nancy & Bear) & 1-(Myself) )

Total = 13

Any others?

Sounds good to me D.  If no one else wants to I'll split one with you and they can watch us eat.  I think Hotwired should be there also.

I'm in, Doran.  Aidan won't be with us - just Courtney and Lauren ... unless "state" walks in for their annual survey, in which case it would be just me and Lauren.

I've been working on trying to lock down a job interview or two for Wed & Thurs in Minneapolis.  So far nothing in concrete, but I've been back-and-forthing it with a firm downtown.  Cross your fingers for me.  Would it be odd to show up to a job interview dragging a boat behind the car?  Probably.

And, so it's out there for anyone else to read ... when the sun goes down, my hearing does, too.  Especially around campfires.  I don't actually realize how much I rely on reading lips until I can't see the lips move.  Some of you will notice my participation slips in the dark.  Anybody feel free to nudge me or give me a good old fashioned yell if I'm not responding.  It'd be easier if I were older, at least I could blame it on age.

Thanks for the heads up Dan.  I have a friend that lost his hearing testing jet engines for the military.  He reads lips also and I try to make an effort when he is around to look at him when I'm talking, whether it's to him or not.  See you there.

Don, i can relate in that my wife Laurie, her sister and her brother have a profound hearing loss.
i always say im going to invent the "Lip Light" a small LED light to light up my face at night, in the car or whatever.
we'd all look funny sittin around the camp fire, but at least you could here !
unfortunately i have no boats in the water yet, and have commitments for that weekend the lip light may have to wait till next year.
don't nobody steel my idea  ;) ;)

Dan

If you want you can leave your boat at my house.  Iam about a mile off of 35w as you are coming up north. That way you do not have to tow it around the cities.  Let me know and we can talk later.

Thanks for the offer, Jeff.  We'll see how things go.  Had a phone "interview" today ... I know the firm is waiting on another one or two projects to materialize before they're ready for another designer.  I've got two more to contact ... if any need me in person, I'll hitch up and be on my way.  Otherwise, we'll stick to our Thursday plan.

I believe (unless you've been told different), that Mark is in WI picking up the boat Thursday night, arriving Friday?

If I was giving someone an interview, and they showed up with a Glastron hooked to the back of their car, they would get the job on the spot!

Doran, count me in!  I'll be getting there Wed late afternoon and will be tent camping this time till Sunday morning, with the exception of leaving around 9pm Thursday to visit with some friends north of there and will be back around noon on Friday, so I'll be there for pizza Thursday evening.
