Labor day weekend Boating? Camping?
« on: August 28, 2012, 03:32:06 PM »
I was wondering if any one is going to be around this weekend. Was thinking of heading out on one of the rivers. Also thought about camping as well on of the nights or possibly for the weekend. Any interest? Boating? Camping?

If all else fails maybe I will head back up to Duluth and see if I can get some more Salmon and Lake Trout.
I think this has become an addiction.

I sound like a broken record. Anyone for the St. Paul Park to Hastings Dam Saturday morning? Would be myself and son Paul.

My wife, Kylee, Tim, and myself will be camping on the river just north of Treasure Island on Fri and Sat. if anyone would like to stop by.
I think this has become an addiction.

We like ya, but Sarah and Emma are visiting schools in Chicago and aren't getting home Saturday night. I'm hoping for a little boating either Sunday or Monday, but will probably just do a lake as I had that overheating issue and I'd rather be unable to start in the middle of a lake rather than floating down river!

Have fun camping!

Trip was a total of 55 miles from St. Paul Park to Hastings Dam back through downtown St. Paul returning to St. Paul Park with Paul, my son. Light wind made for small chop on the water, and sunny. Met Dan Statton in his green metric Glastron. Dan attended the annual Glastron meet the first two years. Boat ran 52.3 MPH GPS with the 20" raker prop. Prop lifts bow and the boat feels light. White and tan CV 23 launching under the 494 bridge. DID NOT RUN OUT OF GAS JASON, GREGG, AND JIM.

I was looking for Dan & Mary at the meet this year...hoped they'd make it.  Looks like their Metric is running well.

Boat sure looks pretty sitting on the trailer in that last shot David. Good to hear it's continuing to run good for you.

I'll taking my son and his friends out on 'tonka tomorrow. I'll be in the cruiser though. Little more comfortable than the Carlson with all the weekend warriors out for their last hurrah of the summer. Lake was a zoo today.

That sounded fun David. I probably could have joined you but I'm not real spontaneous when it comes to boating. Maybe had I planned ahead I could have went.
Cool you ran into Dan and Mary Ann. I too was looking for them at the meet. They did come by the booth at the boat show.
