1966 Johnson 80 HP outboard
« on: August 21, 2012, 01:34:59 PM »
i picked this motor up a while ago thinking i could use it on my GT-150, but its too small and dont have tilt/trim
i bought it not knowing if it ran, checked comp, 75 to 80 in all 4 cly.
fuel inlet was plugged so i bypassed it, filed the points, hotwired it...
started and ran nice, good idle, only ran for 30 seconds because my muffs would not fit it, but i can fix that for "show and tell"
the insulation is rotted off all the wiring on the motor, i have the control and harness also.
i have it listed on CL for $250 (yea kinda hi)
sell to a member that could use it for $150 or ??, would like to move it fast

Might want to consider putting it in the "Glassifieds" (free) over on FG, Joe.  There's always somebody there looking for a "period correct" motor, and 80hp would be considered plenty!   :D

(If no one here needs it, of course!)
