Hello guys,
My name is Chris and live the Netherlands.
Since this week I'm an owner of a Glastron SSV 163 from 1984 in an original state as far as I know.
Still have some electrical stuff to check/ repair but what a quality boot was this for the 80'
Thank in advance for if I need some help from you.
Kind regards,
Chris

Welcome to the forum Chris !
Nice looking SSV !
Some Glastrons were built in USA and imported, some were built under contract by "LaRaYa" in Spain.
And a few were built by "Rodger Clark" in England.
Look on the right hand side of stern, just under rub rail for a "HIN" cast into hull.
If it has one, it was built in USA and imported.
If there isn't a number, it was built at LaRaYa or RC.
How to read USA built HIN ..

1980 or 1981 were the last years Glastron made SSV163's in USA ..

Thanks for the information and a lot of reading it seems my boat is imported from USA, the number is on the right hand side starring with GLAA573780A :)

Your SSV163 was built in August of 1980.
Wood rot is biggest problem with any brand of old boat.
Soft spots in floor and rot around any holes drilled into transom, like speedo pickup tube, ladder & motor mount holes.

Hi,
Just wondering if someone knows how to align my steering wheel?
I Removed the cover and the the big nut but I still see no way to remove and align the wheel.
Thanks in advance.

Your steering wheel is on a keyed taper shaft .. Only adjustment would be at motor ..
Could be wrong, but that was only way I could do mine.
-
Thanks, didn't think about it to make the change on the engine side, will see if this will work.
-
Your helm / rack aren't teleflex, or at least don't look like any teleflex I've ever seen.
Look into brand and model .. might be some kind of adjustment at rack.

Welcome to the world of glastrons. Know of a few of them over there. Detlef Ranke and Hans Van Drenth.

.. And don't forget our friend .. the flying Dutchman ...

Finally got my steering wheel off and I was wondering if some one knows if the mental part can be removed so I can put the wheel in the right position?
Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure that part can't be adjusted.

Ok thanks, need to find other options to put it straight or even deal with it.
