Title: CV19 top speed
Post by: 74 Carlson the II on August 22, 2020, 01:32:46 PM
Anyone with CV19's, what kind of top speeds do you see with your set up? Motor type and any mods you have made?

I've looked at several for sale over the years, owners reported 50's, both were small block engines.  Every CV-21 I've seen was a big block, except for the 007 21 with twin LS engines.   There is a BBC 19 for sale, it's owner reports very fast.   IMHO, jets accelerate faster, but stern drives have a higher top speed.

I'll be installing an outboard. Trying to figure out what I'm going to start with. 300 Pro xs?

Interesting conversion I suppose, maybe you're thinking CVZ-19, they are the outboard version of the CVZ-18 which is a sbc stern drive "convertible".    Someone once did a scimitar outboard, never saw it in person, only in pictures.  Now, a 300 HP outboard on a Glastron I suppose is possible, but if I going to try this, I'd be looking for a Sprint or possibly a ski machine model.

Didn't know they made a cv-19 outboard, never seen one before.  Should be plenty fast with 300 hp.

Can’t wait! You going to put a pad on the bottom? Aren’t they kind of rounded like a cv16? 300hp would sure freak me out!

Jason
More than likely something around the 200 hp range. Yes the bottom is round like a cv but I know how to dive them but the thought has crossed my mind.
