Tonights progress report:

1) Burned the grill up in a grease fire.  (Kids!  We're ordering pizza or chinese...what do you want?)

2) Cut down one of my seats and mounted it on a pedestal...they are not pretty (and I know that), but they'll work for this summer.

What size pedestal did you use, Doran?  That looks cool - almost like it's floating.  Stable enough you can lean back into that seat?

Hmm...what size...honestly, I don't remember.  They're Springfield brand.  I cut them down so that the seat mount sits right above the pedestal base (but doesn't touch) to minimize the seat height.

No kidding. I didn't realize you were doing the sides too. Was it all shot or just didn't like how it was done?
You're going to have to keep her the rest of your life, you know....after all that work!

The original CVZ & CVX's (right)? don't have any gunwale storage, my Bayliner & '96 Glastron both did.  There's a lot of additional storage there if you have full sides, so I wanted to add it to Goldie.

Here's how it is from the factory (minus the McD's yellow)...and it was rotted & shot:

Yes gunwale storage is a must if you want to store fenders, paddles etc. Hard to believe they didn't do that from the factory especially in an open bow boat.

Found my plywood had warped (just a bit) over the winter...so...making seat backs from it!  Tomorrow, I'll get the rest of the seats built.

With the plywood that warped you should make a half pipe out of it instead of seatbacks!  ;D

Yeah, I've had a couple neighbors say the same thing!

I've been working on some new bucket seat designs.  I took the pattern from Tim and used that as a starter base design, and then did my own thing...the warped ply gives me a curve I've been trying to work with and I wanted to see about adding some ventilation through the sides to maximize ventilation:

Well, we'll see what happens.  I'm going to keep mocking up the sides with foam board tonight and hopefully settle on something and get them put together and finished.  I'll fiberglass everything to add strength and put them away until I know what I'm doing for my interior.

Its been warping even move since I took that picture.

All you have to do is let it sit out for 2 winters (as the kids snowboard ramp) and you're set!

Working on reinforcing the walk through area.  I ended up picking up a piece of C-Channel, cutting & painting it up as a way to support the walk through floor as there's nothing there but the gas tank to support it.

As soon as the weather turns nice again next week, I'll be able to cut & install the floor.

Speakers are on the way as well.

Just about there & can't wait to be done!

Doran, what is your plan for the floor?? Are you pulling the carpet back up and glassing that all back in?? Lights look good.
