I guess the jury is still out if the front cover was original or not. I sure would like to get in touch with the seller of the boat to find out more details. If anyone has information about the sale of it, please post what you know. I would greatly appreciate it.

Doran. I have so much saved that even if ikept it  I couldn't find it ...
If that was the boat, it must have sat out side for awhile !
Some one might have offered him a HUGE amount for cover and he sold it.

That make sence about buying an open bow then getting a cover for it.
Bet not many were sold !

I agree, goes against the purpose of the open bow and that many people wouldn't have paid for something they were never going to use.

Wasn't the boat in Cambridge emerald mist? I'm pretty sure it was.  Anyways there was never any mention of a convertible cover for that boat, even when he had it for sale last fall.

And yes why buy the open bow version of the CVX18 and then get a cover to turn it back into a closed bow. Actually I suspect many didn't purchase the cover for two reasons. It was an expensive option and there is no place to store it in the boat when it's off which doesn't make it all that practical.

Right, but isn't that boat in the picture Emerald Mist?  Looked like it to me?  Could obviously be a different CVZ-18, but it was in Cambridge.  A photo of the bow would tell us if its the same pretty quickly.

When I originally designed my bench & center tow bar, I had visions of trying to build a slot for the bow cover to slide down into so I would always have a place to store it.  The reality is that its so big and clumsy that I wouldn't have anywhere to attach the bench seatback to if I did that.  I also have to figure out a better locking mechanism.  The hooks they used from the factory would take out every thigh or knee going through there...there has to be a better way.

The boat in the picture is blue. That's why I don't think the CVZ18 that sold in Cambridge this fall is the same boat.

I can't tell.  My CVZ-19 really doesn't look green in any of the photos...this is the closest one that kinda looks green...but I agree the interior is blue on the one Rich posted...so boat likely was as well.

That was a pretty boat, Doran.  Look how clear that water was, too ...

We love that lake...boat in sitting in 10 feet of water at the stern in that picture.

And yes,  bluebell was a looker and that 235 could haul arse.   I chickened out at 62 mph,  and that was with a 20p Raker... I'd have loved to try it with the 22p Raker,  but sold it before I got the chance....

I always thought the bow cover was a cool option. Not much more impractical than a truck with a cap, a convertible car with the top up, T-tops "in" on a Corvette, etc. I realize it's a little different, you do have to be committed to bow-on or bow-off when you launch the boat. But they do look really cool with the cover on. And, nice to have the sun blocked storage when it's you, or you and another passenger. Truth is, unless they are children, no one is sitting up there anyway, unless they are "little people". So when the kids aren't along, it's a neat option.

Plus it's unique, an original option, and another example of Art's futuristic and creative design. Not for everyone, I'm sure. But I did get alot of messages from CVZ owners that would have given just about anything to get their hands on the covers I found, so there is quite a bit of interest to have them, even if they rarely get used.

Wex is the search expert!  He found 2!

I do love my cover for exactly what Steve described...its great for trailering, great when its me, stick the cooler up there, love the look, and it has saved a bunch of water from coming over the bow on 1 or 2 occasions.  Probably the biggest benefit is that when its cool out (Night cruise) it offers up a bunch of wind protection on a cold night cruise

You do have to leave the dock committed to your decision, but I do love having it.

I owe him big time for trusting me enough to send it my way when he could have kept it.
