I got it from Piranha Propellers directly.  Their picture has changed for whatever reason and no longer show's what it actually looks like for whatever reason.

Here it is:

Any recommendations for a propeller wrench?

A 1 1/16 socket on a socket wrench?  If so, how deep?

One of those plastic prop wrenchs?

I use both. The nice thing about the plastic one is you won't loose an expensive ratchet and socket in the lake. But sometimes you can't get enough torque on those tight nuts. I use a standard 1/2 drive 1-1/16" deep well impact socket.
On the socket, how deep is deep enough?

Any deep well socket will work. You can even get the open end of a wrench in there if need be but not the best way to go.

$71.25 for a deep socket from Snap-On tools??!

How about $8.50 from Menards?  Yeah, that's more like it.  :)

I keep a 1/2 inch breaker bar in boat with a few sockets for, prop, trailer lug nuts and spark plugs.
Over kill ... But it works .... LOL
I would think the plastic one would work fine ... AND ... It floats !

I'll may buy a plastic one for in the boat.   On shore, I'll use metal wrenches.

I've noted that West Marine in Minnetonka is pretty high priced on some items, so you have to know your prices before you walk in there!
For example, the plastic prop wrenches are $19.95 at West Marine!
And a $10 distributor cap is $19.95 at West Marine!

You can find just about anything cheaper online but if you need it now then it's worth the extra money. Plus, it's kind of nice to support our local marine experts!

I had the beat-up 15x19 prop reconditioned through Nathe's Marine in Paynesville...$79.  It looks like new, but doesn't have that flared ring on the trailing end of the prop.  I guess it broke off at some point in the past?

I took the 13x19 prop off and put on the 15x17 (which does have a flared ring) to see how that acts.  Next, I'll try the 15x19.
