Two people at work were towing two snowmobiles in a covered trailer years ago and the trailer turned over. Hours of securing parts for the snowmobiles.

Good call Dave. Imo 24 might be a tad short & a 27 just a lil too tall. Then again considering the light hull, backset/jackplate, etc. It might turn a 27 just fine. Bet RP winds up closer to 27?

Speaking of poontoon disasters, this one's hard to beat. Drunk dragged it fer quite awhile. Reckon he thought it was gonna right itself ...?

Thought I would put my experiment/question here to avoid hijack.......Todays question is.....will/can fluid (in this case 2 stroke oil) seep past rings over time.  This powerhead has good compression and leakdown numbers.

Deep creep (seafoam in a spray can) will drain/leak over time.
My motor has good compression.

We use to use Marvel Mystery Oil to free up stuck motor, so some will go past the rings, but you're more likely to get hydro-lock than anything

It looks like fluid (in this case two stroke oil) does leak past the rings but slowly........I would say about 1/2 has "drained" so far in the amount of time between posts. I will try a different (Thinner) fluid in the next cylinder and see if it goes faster. Right now I would say yes fluid can seep past a piston/rings.........now we would have to add that there are single ring pistons...... two ring pistons..etc but I suspect all would allow fluid to seep by to some degree.

Ok just checked #2 and it is almost all drained now.......I used oil in both cylinders because this powerhead goes back on its midsection this spring although I do not have a hull to put it on right now. But , now that I have tried two cylinders I am going to say fluid (in this case two stroke oil) will/does seep past piston rings in a healthy engine........I would think that water would get by easier because it is not as "sticky" as oil?????? Any thoughts?
