My old engine builder Jack Wheeler use to say if ya throw a bucket of water at a door, how much goes through the key hole?  Oil can seep through the ring end gap in time, so may water, but if you were getting the amount of water in the oil to notice you would need a constant supply of water seeping. You really can't get water in the crankcase past the rings.

Can it go past the valves or are you saying it is impossible to get water in the oil from a combustion chamber?  I think I heard once that a blown Head gasket could cause coolent/water in the oil.......I think they were claiming it was from coolent/water entering the combustion chamber.........And that Mercruiser service manuel seems to say the same thing?  I am thinking I remember a 3.0 Volvo we had in with water intrusion....had a big overheat, sent the head in for test and mill, new head gasket and no more water intrusion......I will look for the paperwork on that one and see if my memory is right.

There is no direct connection from the combustion chamber to the oil pan. Even a blown head gasket will only put water in the pan if it blows next to the oil passage to the rockers. You're more likely to get oil in the water, because oil pressure is higher than water pressure.

On one of my dads old boats that had a 4.3L V6 one of the exhaust manifolds failed and water came in through the exhaust, into the engine, locked it up, also got milky oil. New exhaust manifold, few oil changes, and it was good to go. So I think it's possible to get water in oil through the cylinders.

Most of the time when a head gasket fails or heads warp you get combustion going into the cooling system (high to low pressure). Then you get air pockets in the cooling system which causes overheating.

I looked at that repair order...............heavy overheat....had water in #4 cylinder and crankcase..........new gaskets on head and manifold......head tested and flattened ...............reassemble and all good................I am going with it is possible to get water in the oil thru a combustion chamber

I haven't had much luck with a simple oil change removing water from a crankcase, until I tried using isopropyl in the oil.

ageed...at the least it takes multiple changes ...........I have had some insurance salvage boats from the coast......engines submerged in salt water......I fill them with diesel(completely) and let em sit for a couple days, then clean them up and get them running.

This is an article from a monthly magazine sent to dealers from one of our engine manufacturers......it talks about fuel (or contaminents in the fuel) on the cylinder walls migrating past the rings.....

Not a Corvette........The year is 1964......I do think some of the lines of this ride made their way over to the Corvette within a few years......

Thats It.......A John Delorean creation made to go against the Mustangs..never went to production as GM thought it would hurt Vette sales......a few years later Delorean tried to ressurect it but instead was made to work off the Chevrolet Camaro.........and Viola.......The Firebird was born.....Taillights on the Banshee look familiar?

Here is the 1988 version of the Banshee. I hauled it  around the country to several auto shows back when I transported concept and show cars.

Now that looks Delorean.

It may look futuristic, look close and you won't see any door handles. Most concept cars had an electric switch or manual cable release hidden somewhere, most often in the front fender well. The Banshee had neither.  There was a small hole on the top of the outside door panel opposite where you would find the inside lock button. To open the door just insert a common nail in the hole and push down. Futuristic on the outside, Fred Flintstone on the inside.

Was this newer version a mid engine?  I am guessing Delorean was not in on this one as he had moved on to DMC by then?

Not a mid but front engine V8. Anytime I seen this car the engine barely ran it was so loaded up. Just needed a good romp down the strip to clean it out. If I remember it had a 5 speed manual trans and enough buttons on the dash to keep a jet jockey happy. Although being a concept none of them worked, they were just a bunch of dummy buttons.
