Finally Getting Started
« on: June 04, 2014, 07:06:10 PM »
Well Sara and I moved into a new place now we have a garage where I can work. I did some today nothing with the engine(yet). I just thought I would share some pictures of the process so far.

Side note...I did find some rotten floor behind the gas tank

Your father inlaw know just how to take care of rotten wood.

Looking forward to seeing you two on the river this summer.

If you need any patterns I would be glad to help. I have a foam one for the transom and I would be glad to make patterns of my bow seats for you or any thing else you need. Glad to see another V-179 being resurrected.

Here is a link to my rebuild thread so you know what you are getting into.

scratch that about the starter selnoid. The throttle lever wasn't in the proper position for it to be able to start.

Got do dig into the motor a little more and we have fuel. we have air. but the spark has been misplaced. Now we play the diagnostics game. We are going to go all Dr. House on it to find it.

We have a running boat! But I gotta find the frost plugs.  It was a pretty funny sight with me and my buddy sitting around the motor plugging the holes with our fingers!
