I also don't have a problem with the test, but last year we went to FL. What if every state had this law and we had to test in every state.

Some one stepped back and got a look at the "Big Picture".
I would like to see / take the test, just to see if I'm doing every thing right, a little education never hurts ...

I agree, every state should have a class/test of some sort to educate the public.

I have to admit to being very impressed - and Jerry you must be one heck of a persuader. I'm not sure I can recall a time in our state (WI) where the lawmakers were willing to delay and/or reconsider anything to take a better common sense look at things...I know, that's sounding probably unjustly pessimistic of me regarding our state's politics, and maybe it does happen more than we hear about, just seems (perception) like it happens the other way too often where it has to go so wrong that they have to finally change things AFTER things are all messed up.   ;)

Anyway, I think that's really cool that they (MN) are willing to take another look at how it might be revised and improved for the better before they roll it out. There's hope for government yet!   :)

I would really prefer a '1 test' certification for all states that require it...ie, my 'IA' test & sticker would be good with all states requiring it.

I just read recreational boaters contribute 37 Billion to the economy annually. You'd think the bureaucrats would consider this before runnin em off.

That said we don't have the problems you have. And you don't have ours. So it's unlikely a one size fits all 'test' would work.

But I admit it's a frightening prospect that by simply boating across state lines you might be violating the law? That ain't gonna work.

No reason the state's around us (MN. WI. MI. ND. SD. IL. IA.) couldn't have the same rules / laws and same test and sticker.
