79 Cvx-16 Value
« on: June 22, 2015, 06:32:07 PM »
Been a while sense I"ve posted here. Can Anyone tell me the value would be on a running 79 CVX-16 I/O Mercruiser 4cyl. Good Floor. Not Period correct but Good shape interior. And the hull was repainted unfortunately. Other bad news is that it has not title.

Fixing a missing boat title isn't an issue if you've got $300-500 to spend fixing it.  (See  www.its-titles.com  )

Personally, I think the leg work of ensuring that the HIN is clean before fixing the title is more important.

Boat titles only apply to later year boats, correct me if I am wrong. Since my stuff is all old, I have no titles for any of them.

Check the state where the boat is located.  For instance, NY state only titles post 1987 boats.  Know the law regarding the state your buying it in, and know the laws in the state your titling in.  For example, I'm bringing a 1985 cvx20 from NY to Nebraska.  They have assignable registration, but Nebraska requires a notarized bill of sale from NY.  They will assign title here with that paperwork.  Hope this helps, Michael.

Windshield is cracked. Where can I check on the HIN? I read a little saying I just need a Notarized Bill of sale. Here it Is, Needs some TLC.  Guys was going to take it to the crusher. So I gave him $300 for it.  I need to get it running.

The guy bought it thinking the engine would fit his bought. Turns out it was wrong engine. and it sat, needed to get it out of friends yard. So.. I gave him my I'll take it today price lol. its looks like someone got made and busted the windshield plus the guages. ( although they still work. just the glass is broke) and once I get the engine running, I can take it for a cruise on the water. Then will probably be selling it. I dont need two boats. I'm kinda sad that it was painted cause under the paint it the same Gold metal flake as my CVX-18
