Thanks for the information. The front of your boat would make an excellent "Over the Bow" shot. Any outdates on props, top speed? Are you running a Raker HO prop?

Are those just to maintain a constant water height in certain areas where the tide affects the water level?

There is a channel/ waterway that goes threw the middle of FL. You can go from East coast to west coast. It goes threw Lake Okeechobee to make the connection.

I thought I was on that river in Febuary this year. Might have to find a place in Ft Meyer or Cape Coral next time.

David, I am running the Raker HO, 24 inch pitch. About the only difference between the HO and the standard Raker is that the vents are adjustable. I have them just cracked open to help with planing off. I was told that closing them is better for top end. Not sure if that is true or not. I have not done any speed runs since I acheived the 71.4 gps. I guess I am just happy with that.

Jason, there is a dam at each of the 5 locks on the waterway. They are used to manage the lake Okeechobee, Caloosahatchee river, and St. Lucie river levels. Interesting fact is that during drought periods the locks go from on demand openings to hourly openings or even as low as 3 times a day openings.

Water levels in the lake are high right now and the first lock had an 8 foot lift and the second had 1.5 foot lift. Not sure what the maximum lift/fall is but I am thinking it is not anywhere near 30 feet. Land is pretty flat around here....lol

The new improved Manatee mantra is "give em space".

I hereby give em all of Lemon Bay, except for the area directly in front of/under my propeller. I think that's more than fair?
