Saberflite
« on: April 16, 2017, 11:00:16 PM »
Anyone have a contract number for the guy over in the Wisconsin Dells area that has the Saberflite that was for sale over in the Minnetonka area a few years ago? On our way home from the Dells this morning I spotted about a dozen 60's era boats in the side of the road (on 82 a few miles north of Mauston). I originally stopped to check out a different boat but when I turned around I saw the tail section of the saberflite.  Turns it it was the actual boat I looked at a few years ago but passed on.  Anyways I'm interested in the other boat I originally stopped for.  I couldn't get a number or make contact with the owner due to a time crunch and an extensive array of "due not trespass" signs. I didn't want to push my luck. Any help would be appreciated.

First picture is if the boat I'm interested in. ...any idea what it is?

Second if a not so good picture of the saberflite

Not trying to be or sound insulting, but as a owner of a cvx-18, and an Intimidator, it seems odd to me that you would be interested in a Saberflight?

I'd love a Saberflite too...small, compact 'tow mule' for water sports.  Family would love it.

I'm assuming Tim, that this is the same black one we talked about last year in the TC's?

It is the same boat Doran.
Mike, for me it is just a cool boat, nothing fast about it, just cool. If I was single when I originally looked at it I probably would have bought it, but when I really think about it, how many projects does one person really need. I have two kids (a near three year old and seven month old), Maggie, three boats, and a 107 year old house with lots of renovations needed. I had and have enough on my plate.

And just so we are all clear, the boat I'm interested in is the one in the center of the first picture quartering away.

Not to step on any toes , but I believe it's a Dorsett Sea Hawk , around 1962. It's was there jet boat that had a ford motor in it. I've owned 3 Dorsett over the years and missed out on one like that by a guy from Des Moines by a couple hours. There a super neat boat !!!
