Anyone up for a run next weekend? As of now either Saturday or Sunday would work.
Maybe a river if the levels are ok, otherwise we could do White Bear Lake? Any suggestions?

River was awesome on saturday, might be ready to go again. Debris might be an issue since the whole state got drenched yesterday.

I heard on the radio on the way home yesterday that they may envoke flood watches today, if that is the case we may be stuck in minimium wake again.

I was out on the St. Croix yesterday in Hudson. Beautiful day. I saw then searching for the boy's body that drowned yesterday. Don't try swimming across the St. Croix. Also spun my prop hub on the V172.
I suspect the rivers will be coming up again too.

They were saying we're set to get dumped on again tonight so Minnetonka might be a good back up.
Let's see what the weather looks like come tomorrow and see what they say as far as river flows/no wakes.

Jason, where do you find the no wake alerts? I've poked around the Corps of Engineers website and a couple others, but can't seem to find where recent alerts are posted.

As far as rivers go, only the St. Croix river has the no wake rule. When it reaches 683 ft above sea level at Stillwater the no-wake rule applies.
You can get up to date readings here. It's on the rise! 680 now.

I think Lake Minnetonka has that rule too but I have no idea where you look for that.

Would anyone be willing to give Forest Lake a try? It's easier for me to pull my rig there with a small truck, and it's goign to be my first water trial. Pretty good size with the 3 joined lakes as well...

I'd be happy to go to Forest Lake. I've never been but it's my boat's home lake as the orig. owner and the guy I bought it from lived just a few blocks from there.
It'd be fun to explore a new area and we'd get to see Brian's new toy!

I'm not sure what's there for beaches. I'm sure that we could find something. I've never been there either, but I have some co-workers that have lakeshore.

I have never been there either. I have always wanted to check the lakes out though in that area.

Maybe your co-workers would know of good public access as well. The main public access in Forest Lake proper looks like it only has maybe 10 trailer spots at it.
If there are no public beaches to pull the boats up to we could always just get some bumpers out, lash the boats together into our own little island and have a picnic lunch.
I've searched a couple times and don't think there's a public marina or dockside restaurant.
Maybe your co-workers would know that as well Brian. Sorry, not to pressure you or anything!

Yea I only see the one ramp too with 10 parking spots. I have heard good things about big marine lake too which is close by to you Brian. They look to have a nice big park, ramp, parking, ect.

We usually do Square Lake with the family and Big Marine isn't that much farther. I've never been to that one but it'll work!

Big Marine is a great fishing lake, they have a park on the south side that you can beach at, you can launch there too, but that costs and additional $10 (I think). There is another ramp on the north side of the lake that is free. The lake is largely undeveloped with the park on the south side and a girl scout camp on the North East. It is however pretty weedy.

It looks like I might be out, a good friend of mine called yesterday in a panic that his cabin outside of Cloquet might be flooded, turns out it was. His cabin looks like it took on about a foot of water, He's missing his fishing boat, his dock and had a whole lot of cleaning to do. The worse part is he just finished remodeling after the darn thing flooded a few years ago due to a busted water main.
He sent up the bat signal about 2:30 this morning looking for help so I'm going to go up and see what I can do.

The majority of the group is pointing to one of the lakes up around Brian since it's his first time out in the new boat, but we haven't decided on which one yet. Big Marine was the last suggested.

So Hagberg Launch on Forest Lake at noon sound good to everyone? Or if some want to go out earlier I suppose we could just make sure to come back to the launch at noon to meet up with the full group.
Kind of like how we did it at White Bear a couple weeks ago.

I think you guys are pushing your luck on White Bear the sherrif is out there all the time. I got pulled over for 37mph last year cause the lake is 35mph Be safe have fun

Looks like you guys had fun,
I ended up driving up to Prairie Lake and saving my friends cabin. We left 9:00PM Saturday night at returned about Midnight last night. We gutted the entire first floor of the cabin and saved everything that we could will standing in 3" of water inside the cabin and 10" outside. Next weekend we go up and bleach the heck out if the thing. It should survive. I'll throw up some picture tonight when I get them off of my phone.

They look great so far! I even got some great ones of the kids! I haven't put them on the computer yet, so I could only view them on the camera. The multi shot action pics are really cool though. It will be neat to post them in order so people can see the action as it happened!
I'll try to get them on the board after work today.

I'm really a big fan of this new camera. I'm glad that I'm finally able to put it to some good use. Now that I know that it takes pictures like these, I'm going to be sure to use it more for out boating stuff...

There are two photo's of Josh's V-174 that are very nice! I love how the sun shines off of the "rear" of his hull accentuating the "curves" of his boat.

Pics look awesome. Had a great time cant wait to do it again. Also If anyone would like On July 7th I will be having a graduation party for my Brother he graduates from the Marines this FRI. I will be have a celebration for him on July 7th. At my house/ White Bear Lake. My house has deeded access so we will be down there grilling and I will have the boat and the Jet skis. You are all welcome to join us.

Well done with the pictures Brian! The pics of the kiddo's turned out particularly well!
I've got a few good shots as well that I need to pull off my phone. Hopefully tonight. Unfortunately a lot of the really nice shots are ruined by the waterproof case getting in the way of the lens, but ah well, live and learn!
I'm hoping to fix my carb issue before we all go out again which is hopefully soon!
