I don't know any details .. but he's in the hospital with trouble breathing and a fever.

UPDATE from Rachel Erickson
He's ok for now. Stable. They are consulting with pulmonology on monoclonal antibody treatment. He'll likely be kept overnight as they treat him.
Prayers appreciated. Kelly is at home, I will be going back up when they spring him. They wouldn't let me stay because of COVID.

We have Covid-19, they sent him home from the ER and we are waiting to get an appt. for monoclonal antibodies.
He is up in his chair now, feel free to call him.

Sounds like Jim is at maple grove hospital with covid pneumonia

I've heard there's problems getting the monoclonal stuff, low supply & high demand.

There is, and I guess there is only one company's monoclonal that has any affect on the new variant. That is the reason for the short supply from what I have read in the news.

Just spoke with Jim's nurse and he is having a worse day as far as his lungs staying oxygenated.
Just sitting on the edge of the bed his sats are dropping. He has been on bipap the majority of the day.

Just saw this. Jimmy is not doing good.

Today has been a very difficult day.  Dad and Kelly made the choice to move to comfort care. They are allowing him to keep the bipap on for now, and they are giving him morphine to keep him comfortable.  Being on comfort care allows him to have four visitors, so right now that is us 3 daughters and Kelly. Erik will also be coming to spend time as well, and we are just leaning into each others arms for strength and comfort.

Please know that your messages of care and comfort are being read to dad. Please understand that while we may not reply right away, we see and feel your prayers.

caring bridge update

Jimmy passed away this morning.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family for comfort to get through this hard time.
