Trim sender ?
« on: July 04, 2022, 07:38:51 AM »
Hey , I can adjust the trim sender so the gauge works right out of the water . but as soon as I put the boat in the water the gauge quits working .
I've had the sender apart and there is no water in it.
Any Idea whats going on ?

I power my trim gauge with "running" 12 volts, is it possible you run accessory power on shore where it works, and somehow missing power when in the water?  The trim gauge and sender are a fairly simple circuit, the sender being somewhat similar to a volume control.   Why it works on shore, but not in the water is a tough one to troubleshoot

Maybe a cut in insulation. Not working in water as water shorts to ground could explain why it works only on shore.
