I believe it is the Boom Site, yes

Might have to wait until the weekend but the St.Croix can be nuts then.
too much traffic on the weekend there for me, but it is the place to beach and hang out.

Another great night on the water (even though not as planned)
Jeff was helping Ross work on a fuel starvation issue, then the tow from Kinnickinnic, Jason took over tow duty about half way back.

Is that first pic of my boat actually running? A rare sighting.
Yes pretty much the same issue continues after my Racor filter replacement, carb filter cleaning, new tank relining and new fuel line installed.
My plan is now to take that small glass filter out. I shouldn't need it and it may be a restriction although it is SO inconsistent, I don't think its that but I shouldn't need it anymore. Ordered an electronic fuel pump today next day air and should have that tomorrow.
The one thing we thought we might try was taking Jeff's carb off and trying that but the dying and restarting issue got worse and I couldn't make it to shore and we were running out of daylight. Besides, I did want these guys to have some fun and not just hang around me the entire time. It is just baffling to me. None of us are carb experts so I hope I can get someone to do some tweaking on it. It seemed at times like it was flooding out. Jeff screwed the idle adjustment screws in all the way and we found out they were out about 4 turns. Brought them out 1 1/2 as a starting point and it was bogging when I tried to accelerate. Turned them out another 1/2 turn I believe but by that time, it was getting harder to even get to start. It is coming to the meet no matter what.
Thanks to all that helped out.

I think trying a differnet carb is the best way to go. Glad to see you ordered a electric fuel pump too. I would hook that up directly to the carb and a separate fuel tank to rule everything else out. Then if the issue is still there, try Jeff's or my carb with the same fuel setup. If it still there we KNOW it is not fuel. Bring that HEI to Red Wing too.

As long as I am on the water I am happy! It was a good evening.

This isn't what we came out for.

Well on the other hand, being that I dont have a job, this is one way to conserve fuel.  :D

Sorry about all of your problems Ross.  And I sure hate to hear you are having an electric fuel pump over-nighted.  That'll hurt the bank.  I wish I would have know you were going to do that as O'Reillys carries marine fuel pumps.  That is if you have them in Minneapolis.  I was talking, texting, to Jason earlier and wondered if the starter solenoid could cause the problem you're having.  I think it's ignition related, but, before the distributor/coil as you've placed them at least once.  Then I was doing a search and found this.

Ross the way my luck is going me and you can sit on the dock and wave at everyone together.  Maybe I will just bring a couple tubes and we can float down and hopefully ride back with someone.
I think this has become an addiction.

Ross, Terry is on to something. Just run a wire directly from the battery to your ballast and bypass the ignition switch and solenoid. you could also feel for hot wires once it stalls.

I called all the local places around me and none had the Holley Red E fuel pump I wanted. They had some others but I wanted to use this one since Red has had such good luck with them. The O'Reillys I called (2) said they would have to order it and depending on where it came from, the minimum would have been 3 days, max 1 week.
Cant imagine what would be going in with the starter solenoid. It is new too.
I just thought of something...when Joe and I were doing our testing, the thing that sticks in my mind was the fuel pressure gauge going to zero as it was dieing. For the next couple of days, I am going to focus on getting this E fuel pump wired and plumbed in because its going to be permanent. Worse case, some of this other stuff could be tried at Red Wing when the "knowledge" is all there.
