Jason, yes one for the engine and one to run the amp and entertainment side.

Are they both connected to the alternator? I guess that works. I think they end up "sharing" each other's juice though right? Like when you jump start your car.

That boat is sure turning out nice!

Thanks for the compliment.  I hope she turns out as nice as I have it pictured.  We installed a dual battery isolator switch.  The engine runs on battery 1 and the entertainment will run on battery 2 or I can switch to dual and run on both or isolate either one. The alternator will charge both in the dual position with the engine running.  I see this being handy for when it's time to swim or beach but still want to listen to music, or after dark I can use the LED lighting that I am installing and don't have to worry about not having enough energy to start the engine by just switching to battery 2 and isolating the engine battery.  And like you say I can also jump the boat from battery no. 2 if the engine battery gets too low.

Looking great! Very nice work.

Love the videos, can't wait to hear what that thing does full out and trimmed on good water.

So are you making a subwoofer box that fits above the gas tank? Mine does not have the original gas tank, just curious how much clearance you have there.

Steve, I had thought of putting mine up under the front with the gas tank. but the idea of more hot wires near the tank I didn't like. I mounted my amp behind the throttle control on the side of the boat and the sub is in my center console that i made for my boat.  I just bought new speakers to put upfront and back under the bench seat.

Yes,  it is a small box, there is not much room up there, but it is accessible with-out having to remove the console if it ever need to be replaced .. ::)

The box is 7" in depth 9" height and 10" width with a 2" port in the back.

Well ... when Barb came over, checked out the kick panels, a kick to my groin, a right cross, she took stance for a reverse heel kick,  I decided to re-construct the kick panels, I made them taller, changed the angle some to make the console centered and level.  I may make a short filler strip in front of the battery, before the carpet is layed in.  We set in the rear seat to see where to put the "tabs" for the side pockets, get them in and we are ready for the carpet.

Yep .. this baby is startin to take shape now.

Looking good, Red.  Are you just free-airing the front speakers or plan to enclose them?  You'll lose quit a bit of sound and quality if not. You can always use  the foam baffles that are commonly used in automotive door installs. Cheap and will do the job pretty well.

it's gettin that close. I'll get the wood for the side pockets finished out and installed tomorrow, and the Last Hour of grinding smooth the glass edges,  lookin to be ready to lay in the carpet Friday.  We got another 6 inches of snow last night and this morning, was 6 degree's this morning and looking for -1 or -2 degree's in the morning, but then it's suposed to be warming up the weekend and next week plum up to the 50's.

Looking good.  When I installed new carpet, I went all the way back to the flotation boxes (about 4 inches past the rear panel of the back seat) so I'd have carpet in the storage area under the seat. Looks much nicer when you lift the bottom off. I'm letting my carpet free-float for the most part. With the rear seat in place it holds the back down, the front seat boxes keep it from moving there. I'll glue the front edge along the kick panel and where it meets the side of the boat. This way if something happens and I need to replace the carpet it won't be a nightmare with all the glue.

I'm in the process of a complete rewire so I know what is there and where it goes. Started building my center console today. It will house two MB Quart 6 1/2" speakers and a glove box. Need the GB for registration, sun glasses and music storage. Ordered my ski pylon and I'll be beefing up the floor under the rear deck for the mounting plate.

Will start next week working on the new seat frames and get them to the upholstery guy the first of March.

Looking forward to it's first real ski trip at the end of May when I haul it to Austin, TX for the holiday weekend.

Hey Wil, is there a Texas meet this year ?  we took the carpet back to the boxes too, you are right, it does look nice, the only thing though, you got to leave the cusion off when you put the boat away, or cover it up, to prevent mildew or mold from growing back there.

We got the carpet in, and started covering the side pocket panels, then Barb reminded me she got some cup holders she wanted installed on those panels, so,  she gets cup holders ... big ones

How the heck did you get up there? Must be a good bit of room because I know on my CVX 16 I could maybe fit my 25 lb. dog up there and that's it.

I plan to install a couple of stainless vents in my new rear seat frame to help with the moister issue.  They make them like this and round.
