So I had 2 rings, 2 pins so I decided to use the new ring with the old pin and what do you know, when I tightened the set screw, it opened the pin up enough to remove all of the slop! So awesome! No more steering play!

Got new seals for the gimbal and lower bolts and got it back on the hull.

So I guess now I'm experienced with gimbal ring and steering pin replacement on a mercruiser out drive... I didn't know about the .025" clearance between the stainless washer and housing on the bottom pin, but someone chimed in with the info and mat that was priceless.

My son and friend helped get the boat back together. Man it sure makes a difference when the trim motor has the proper amount of fluid! And I have a working trim limit switch again!
