Hello from Oregon
« on: May 28, 2020, 01:48:34 PM »
Hi all.

I am located in Oregon. I really like the styling of the classic Glastron boats.

I do not have one currently, but I am looking for one with minimal issues. Preferably something with an open bow (girlfriend's request), but not a deal-breaker. Happy to be here, please let me know if you have any leads (willing to travel a bit for the right boat)!

I am in Central, but I visit family in Washington from time to time. There is a really neat 68' GT160 there, but it would need a full resto (plus it has no title)  :-/.

The old Gt 160 is just a cool design.  It looks to have every thing there but yes a major project.

If price is right .. That would be the ultimate open bow Glastron !
Most old Glastrons are going to have rotted wood.

Two year only model .. All catalogs are here in Hi Res.

Way cool thanks for those resources. This would fit the bill so well, but it definitely wouldn't be on the water anytime soon. I am seeing if he can get a title for it, it would be a neat project for later down the road.

One of our members ( cough - cough ) keep titles / regs. from old scrapped boats and reuses them.
Some states are easier then others to reg.

look up I.T.S Titles here:  https://its-titles.com/watercraft-registration/

If you know that the boat isn't stolen, you can get a legitimate title with the proper HIN.  Yes, it'll cost you a couple hundred bucks...but you walk away with a clean titled boat that matches the HIN on the hull.

Interesting. It sounds like they go through Vermont to register them. I will have to dig a little deeper!
