Good start. The real trick will be getting the front cover to match and fit. Looks good so far.

Wow, ya that does look great!  Summer coming to an end .... well, up her in the Great North anyhow ... I hear it is still blazing hot down south ... I am in no hurry to get back down there.  Spent the day fishing today in 65 deg water and air!  Loving it!

Once I get the unfaded parts covered up I think it'll look pretty good.  Kind of sad how much color has been lost...but...it looks much better.  And its smooth to the touch...I could try for more, but I'm not going to risk pushing it too far.

Jerry - The cover will fit once I trim up the base of the walkthrough as I raise the floor & changed the geometry a bit in the bow area.  Gotta love the cool weather...we can all work comfortably for a change.

But...yeah, that'll never match until I re-gel the top half of the boat...

I see I have a fellow cyclists here. When not on the river you can find me on my bike. Full carbon fiber racing machine. I have a 65 mile charity ride on the 17 th and then off to Austin for 90 miles in the hill country for s cancer event.  This weekend I'll be putting the 115 back on the cvx.

I'm trying to get the family into it.  My wife's knees are in bad shape, so she can't go...but yes, my goal is to ride RAGBRAI for a couple days next year.

I'm looking for an upgrade this fall, but I also have my eyes set on an Elliptigo.

Thanks.  Its coming along.  I'm seeing that I haven't quite buffed it out enough as there are still some scratches from sanding...so I'm going to wet sand it all again at 1200 Grit, and buff until my arms fall off.

Go 1500 and then 3000 When you buff it will take little effort to get the shine back. After sanding with 3000 it will already have a low gloss to it and buffs back very easy.
I think this has become an addiction.

Lookin good man! I know it's alot of work. ALOT of work... but, I think you are getting the "buzz" from good results. That's what always keeps me going. Enjoy the finished product!

Buzz is right...but its been a lot of work.  Well worth it though.

I have about 2/3's of the boat done...but I'm amazed at how well its coming back.  Its still faded, but when I put the hardware back on...you'll never be able to tell, so I think it'll look really nice.

Ya, it is always surprising. Put a good UV blocking wax on it and it will shine and shine and shine!!!  Having the flake exposed as it is when it's that faded does take a bit more waxing to keep it shiny but you will still attract plenty of look-e loo-s!!
