16' "Dynasty"
« on: July 20, 2015, 07:38:22 PM »
Or mebbe that's "Die Nasty". Anyway. My buddy Ron's new boat. (He had that lil Steven's before.)

Not a Gtron but purty cool. Deck off resto, and bottom job. Maiden voyage yesterday.

Hate to sound critical, but is there any weight up front?  Not certain I've ever seen the top cowling of an outboard that close to the water.   So tell us, how did the maiden voyage go?

I was wondering the same thing, but thought it was just the angle of both pictures ...

Believe it or not there are two 14 gal tanks under the bow?

If I 'member right there was a passing wave when I took that shot so it doesn't always sit that low. But yeah, that looks a lil low.

Clocked him at 53 or so in the ditch. But he's still gettin used to it, working on set-up, etc.

All composite for the rebuild btw. I'll try to get some more pics next time. The thing is ridiculously narrow, think Ron said 54"? And it looks it! 16' long.

I think it's awesome.

Definitely a nice looking restoration, just thinking if it sits in the water at that level, it must be a challenge to rock up on plane. My cvz sits in the water like most cvx's, but really likes to wheelie.  Just thinking I'd be a bit frightened the very first time I grabbed some throttle that it would almost flip right over.  Love to hear more about the all composite rebuild

Yes it does look low!
Pretty small cockpit too. Not much room to move around but a cool boat non the less.

Ya I dig it too fuzz. It's a really cool lil boat. Even less practical than some of ours but ya gotta love it anyway.

Talked to Ron'n we agreed he should shift some weight fwd. So we'll see.

Re. Composite: They poured the transom & stringer & knees with Sea Cast. Floor is Plascore.

Personally I would NOT have done it that way. That much 'ceramic' adds weight. Imo.

Sumpthin I just remembered. Following the boat it seems to be throwing a lot of spray to either side. Right at the transom I mean. And almost perpendicular to the hull?
