Title: Transom thickness?
Post by: nes-cv23 on May 06, 2024, 05:43:19 PM
I?m getting conflicting info on how thick the transoms should be?. Some say 2?.  Some 1 3/4?  some at 2 1/4? .     I believe outboards have a different size than inboards?.  What are all you guys thinking?? I?ve got the new transom in in my 23.. it?s at 2? for the mercruiser I?m using.  When I measured the old it was 2? ?.  But that was very rotten.      GO!    :)

"The range for the transom is 2" to 2.25" according to the Mercruiser manual.Apr 5, 2021"

I'd follow MerCruisers specs.

Yep, that?s correct, and if you do end up just under there?s a product called coremat, it?ll build about 0.050? per layer
