Looks like a nice haul Brandon. Kudos to you'n yer benefactors. To the unGlastronucated that might look like a pile of junk, but we know better don't we. Just means we gotta break out an extra jar of elbow grease'n clean things up.

That's what it's all about ain't it? Members helping members? It'd be futile to monkey around with one'a these rotten pos all by yourself, so's it's best to have some backup ...?

Long live the CGOA!!!

Finally the humidity has dropped and temp has cooled off this evening! So I went out to do some more tear down on the CVZ-18. Got the rear bench removed and it look like it is the original seat frame with some minor repairs. BTW I will be making templates for the bench if anyone is interested. Also got the instrument panel removed and the Morse controls removed.

Now on to the floor UGH this is going to be fun! Well, the PO as usual did not know what they were doing. None of the floor is secured correctly and majority of the repairs are rotted. It also looks like they used 2x lumber to make some stringer repairs with no fiberglass over them. Looks like it might have had some termites in it at one point also.

Fawkes was fairly young when she was parked only 520 hours on the meter

Didn't do much today on Fawkes. I ended up wiring up lights on my fathers freshly rebuilt 8n Ford.

Not to wander the thread, but looks like he did a great job on the tractor Brandon!  (And "good on ya" for helping with the lights.)  They're getting quite a following, starting to see quite a few of them restored around the country.  Very cool, IMHO.

Yep they do have quite a following. A lot of resources online for them just like us for Glastrons. Dad had what I call a rough restore done on it (its not a show queen) since it does all the hard work out at the pasture they own.

I saw one at the fair a couple years ago with a 292 V8 in it. It looked so factory I didn't notice it at first.

They actually have a kit to put a flat head ford V8 in them. And I do agree it does look factory.

We rebuilt a 9N a few years ago, basically a paint job, seat and new stickers.  Always amazed how good the old flat head would run...

Did you convert it to a 12V system?

Just got the drive removed and it isn't pretty! I checked the drive to see if there was any lube in it, and it was dry as a bone. So I pulled the drive, and the drive shaft bellows is full of water and oil. So looks like the input shaft seal is gone and by the looks of the drive the rest are either gone or on their way out.

I don't have the gimbal housing removed yet, but it is in just as bad of shape. Looks like the bearing is rusted and cockeyed in the housing, the shift cable is rusted and doesn't like to move.

Yep its 12v.

Saw pictures of Branched Oak yesterday on Facebook. It looked like a zoo.

Winterize are you kidding? Come up to Sherman for an afternoon, plenty of water yet and plenty of room. I am thinking of going next Saturday afternoon if you want to join. It would only be a little over a 2 hour drive from lincoln. It would be great to have three Nebraska member boats on Sherman at the same time.

Fawkes took flight for about an hour this morning while she was waiting to be placed on her cradle. All I can say is my A-frame is a life saver for lifting hauls. it made quick work of getting the stern on jack stands and holding up the bow while I was removing the trailer. Travis came over to help place Fawkes on the cradle. Thanks again!

I did figure out one thing, I will have to add 2 more braces at the outer lifting strakes to keep the haul from flexing while on the cradle.

I'd probably whack off the front section over the bow area....I think that's just gonna be a trip hazard?  Otherwise, I like it Brandon!  Nice job!
