All based on supply and demand.  Funny how gas goes up when summer hits?    Read a story that a gas station in Kentucky had gas for $0.99.   I'm guessing they just wanted to shut down for several weeks?

Actually I can remember gas prices at around 99 cents a gallon in 2000/2001 while I was in college. And average gas price when I was in high school was around $1.50 to a $1.89 a gallon. I could fill my car up for under $20 and it is great to be able to do that again.

On the TP some is starting to show up at my local store, but it will probably be gone by tomorrow.

But I can say one thing, I went grocery shopping at my local walmart last sunday morning and everything was full except for the TP and paper towels. So things are getting better supply wise here.

Ok, let’s change this post to “the good ole days” and really start dating us old farts.   :)    I remember back in 1970 when I was 9 putting my dads lawn mower on the sissy bar of my Schwinn stingray going down to the local gas station with my 2 gallon gas can putting almost $1.25-.50 in it. Then going door to door and mowing yards for $5. I could usually do 4-5 yards for that 2 gallons.. then on the way home I’d stop at the local variety/toy store and buy as many hot wheels as I could, and then gathering with my buddy’s and racking them down those orange tracks.. . winner takes the pair...    ahhhhh,  the simple life,   I miss it..

Our local gas station was two houses away, a DX station.  We owned a lawn boy, dad would get the all metal gas can with screw on metal flex hose, add a jiggle of whatever oil was in the shed, hand me one dollar and off I'd go to get fuel.  Here is the kicker.  I would get 1.5 gallons of gas, a candy bar, and a glass bottle of pop, AND get change back.  I remember coming home and watching the latest developments of the Tet offensive on TV.

Probably getting way off topic, but doing some real retro gaming this weekend as we're under lockdown here in MN.  First time I've busted out the old Atari in about 20 years.  Can't believe these 5 1/4" floppies still work!  Seem to be way more reliable than CDs believe it or not!  When I was 12 I would have lost my mind being able to play video games on a 42 inch TV!

Huh. Didn’t know Atari made a console like that with the floppy disks. I’ve only seen the cartridge type. Pretty cool. Reminds me of “number munchers” and “Oregon Trail” from elementary school.

I had to do a double take, No-Nox Verses Non-Ox.

High Octane leaded fuel, vs. kinda higher octane unleaded fuel without alcohol chaser.

Yeah, back in the day these Atari computers competed against the Apple II, Commodore 64, original IBM PC, Coleco ADAM, TRS-80, etc.  IMHO, Atari computers had the best combination of graphics, sound, I/O performance, and available software.  But, ultimately, IBM and Apple won the battle with better sales and marketing (IBM in business and Apple in education).

But do you have the robot, spin bases, and tops used with the original donkey Kong?  We found the game was easy to beat when you operated the pad with your hands.  OK so that was cheating, but it was too hard otherwise.
