Title: 1978 CVZ-18 "Goldie" for sale.
Post by: dorelse on August 19, 2014, 10:57:46 PM
You all know the boat.

I'd like to find a V-212 Sierra for a little more room.  Dale (Ct-15) convinced me.

Willing to make a fair deal (with or without bow cover) to a member here.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested and we can talk.

That would be fine (Nikki would like it), but needs an open bow...I've seen those really rot big time though!

Honestly, the fold down transom steps in the V-212 seems like a killer option for when we're doing water sports, or just floating at the lake...

Nope.  V-212 after talking with Dale (CT-15) owner, he has a '77 (Red) V-212 love it as a family 'day boat'...yes its closed bow, but the bow area is tiny, so shouldn't be an issue.

Not going to be an easy one (V-212) to find ...

so...you're not up to the challenge?  I don't think they're CVC-18 rare, or even CVZ-18 rare...they made them for a lot of years.

now...finding a Red V-212 w/Mercruiser setup, yes, that could be a challenge!

There was this one at the 2009 meet. Beautiful boat! It's the one Jeff pulled back from lake pepin back in 2009 in the pitch black! Can't remember who owns it. Had an inline 6.

I'd go other colors, but, would love the Red.

I think the ultimate goal would be to make sure its a solid example, then see if Red can build a motor to break the outdrive.  :D

No, don't want a project, but do want more 'elbow room' so that we can take friends out with us.  A V212 would fit the bill really well.  Is it as 'cool' as a Carlson, probably not.

Put a nice bimini top up for some shade and you could spend the whole day on the boat.

The CVZ has more seating than the 212 by the looks of it. My first Glastron was a V-186 witch is similar and I would say their was not much more room than my 18 and definitally not more room than the CVZ Granted the 212 is longer but that justs adds some room between the seats. Also there is 2 rear facing seats and no one likes to ride in a boat backwards. Not trying to talk you out of it just trying to point out some things that I see. hate to see you sell and then regret it.

I agree the more we are in the 23 the more we like it. It has plenty of room and has metal flake.

I like my CVZ a lot.  I know not everyone likes the looks of the split windshield, but adding the cover has given me a great dual purpose boat, storage room up front, or room for the kids to sit up there.

Love the looks of the 23, but I know that the kids won't like not being able to see where we're going.

Rear facing seats (in the V-212) aren't my favorite either, would need to think about changing that...

http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/boa/4610286747.html (http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/boa/4610286747.html)

20' 1969 glastron v204 Gulf Stream. Has a Chevy inline 6 cyl. And I think it is a 160 hp. Engine runs great, I put in a new impeller, pump housing, and rebuilt the cylinders for the trim. Blowers, bilge pump, lights all work. Front seats are a little rough and the floor could use a re build but works fine. Has a ship to shore radio and a older depth finder. Has a nice escort trailer with surge brakes. I think the trailer is mid nineties....tows nice. Good fishing boat. Asking $1,400 OBO

The older Volvo drive weren't bad just no power tilt/trim only trailer trim. They are pretty indestructible They used them on tug boats and you can run right or left props with the same outdrive you just switch the linkage over. I could trim up if idling but not under power. I got a nice 4 blade stainless prop for the older volvo drives(hard to find by the way) If i remember someone made a power setup you could bolt on to them.

Yeah, its finding that setup you know?  Then you're still dealing with an obsolete product (the aftermarket power trim)...

Idk...I should probably quit looking over the fence at the 'greener grass' and be happy with what I've got...put on the 4 barrel intake, new interior and enjoy.

Might be the plan.  Hoping to come up to Minnetoka in Sept...seems like a good weekend to help Mom with 'fall cleanup' in Mankato...the lake is 60 miles away.

Would be like getting a new boat !

Over time, use your spare change to slowly build up a 350 Chev motor with vortex heads and etc. etc.
Would be like getting a new boat !
Don't believe me ... Go for a ride with Jeff !

Its a good idea, I think my $50 outdrive would disintegrate!  LOL.

I'll keep my eye open for a V212 and work on an interior for Goldie.

1971 Glasstron Mercruiser with trailor - $3500 (Marblehead)
http://sandusky.craigslist.org/boa/4632213419.html (http://sandusky.craigslist.org/boa/4632213419.html)

I have a 20Ft Glasstron Mercruiser that was a project boat but I do not have time to finish it. I put all new floors and stringers glassed in. Repainted part of the outside. I also have a motor powered fuel pump and electric fuel pump that are both new but not installed. All the boat needs to be water ready is a fuel tank and gas lines.

Nope!

Trying to figure out how to get the red one in NH back without being into a 'free' boat for $1200.00.

Lots of $ for that boat Brandon...but yeah, probably worth a look.  I did want on for a while, but didn't want to deal with the toilet, etc in the bow area...and soon realized only an Oompa-loompa could be comfortable in the bow cuddy.
