I am looking for someone who has an original Glastron trailer from the 80s for a 1988 Cvx 18. I need to replace the winch on the trailer that I re- conditioned, and the old one was too rusted out for more to get any part number info for a replacement. I posted once before, but unfortunately, the info that several of you gave to me didn't help when I contacted some boat trailer part places. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does trailer and winch look like this ?
-
Unfortunately, this particular response we received before & did not help Fulton winches when we called. The winch we need has to fit underneath & have a 3 & 1/2 in width at the base of the winch. This particular model shown in the picture has a 4in base according to Fulton brand winches & does not fit on the trailer properly.

Hmm ok I didn't measure mine sorry

No need to be sorry... We were unaware that there were so many different sizes & configurations for the base to fit properly & for the bolt holes to match up. Most winches we have checked on are too big & we can't seem to find one under 4 in that will work for an 18 ft boat.

I recently restored a mid eighties Conroy(Glastron) trailer, the thread is on the site somewhere. The old winch is a Fulton T1802, and is 3.875" wide. I replaced that with a new Fulton that I cannot locate a model number on right now, maybe it's on the bottom of it. It measures out to be 3.565" wide. The channel it sits in is approximately 4.5" wide. It does have several spacer shafts to allow for not cutting a semicircle in the trailer structural component. My best advice would be to get the measurements of the old one, and do some research to find one that fits. I had to build a new handle for mine, so it's likely that an exact replacement may no longer be available, and a bit of customizing may be in order.

resurrecting this thread... need a winch to fit up and in the 3.5" (smidge wider) wide channel on a cvx 18 ( mines an 1985)
There are hundreds on the web but none have base mount measurements. If anybody has one that they can share a number off of I can start there...
thanks

Look at etrailer.com, they post specs.

Been there, they post some specs but not mounting plate dimensions that we could find

The factory original on my trailer was a T1802 which crosses to a 142306, both Fulton's. My only other suggestion would be to call etrailer or fulton. In the end though, I had to make some modifications to the supposed direct replacement to fit and wind correctly.

Only trailer I have with a 2 speed winch is the pontoon trailer. Both trailers for the glastrons are single speed. Is that a replacement or restoral?

restoral of what was on there. Could not find one to fit within the channel. I t does the job and now looks better
