Wanted: Mercury Power Trim Assembly
« on: July 08, 2013, 07:48:16 PM »
Looking for a factory power tilt/trim setup for my 71 Mercury 1150 Tower of Power. This is the two rams with the external pump/reservoir. If anyone has any or all of these components, please reply with condition and price.

Thank you

There are aftermarket Mercury power trim assemblies. I installed a API power trim assembly on my 1974 115 HP Mercury last spring. $350 new.

Thank you for the info. Could you please send me the details on the ARCO system you purchased?

You need an API PT440N. New motor and reserve, remanufactured pump, use your own valve assembly and electrical. Mine was $365 on e-bay.

There are outboard mechanics that have used units for sale if you are willing to take a risk. Since the changing of units is so labor intensive, I chose to purchase a new unit.

Could you send me a few detailed pictures of the trim setup you have? Are you firm on the asking price?

Thank you

Thanks for the pictures Steve. Do you have the trim switch included with the setup also? I don't really need the lower unit, so I appreciate you giving me the option to buy just the trim assembly. Have you witnessed the pump operate yourself? Do you know if there are any issues with it? Does the $300 price include shipping?

Thanks

I do have the switch, I will check tonight to make sure the pump works. The trim system worked fine when it was removed from my boat, the 30 year old motor that was original to the boat was replaced by the last generation inline 6 with the new style tilt and trim and thats why I have it the old system.
