Man that's a sweet boat.  Does anyone know the top speed of a stock model w/ jet?  Looks like it's really flying.

Factory stats of the CVX-20 Jet with the 460 Ford / Berkeley combo say that top speed on the factory speedo was 62mph.

I would imagine that the CVX-23 with the same engine / drive setup would be in the 58-59mph range.

Hey there,

I just coincidently found this thread about my video.
Thanks for the comments.

This CV-23 was fitted with a new Chevy 454 and a new Berkeley 12 JE jetdrive in 2003 by the P.O. He chose for an AA impeller which gives a bit more holeshot and lower (cruising) rpm's but it harms the topspeed a bit because the engine can't reach the rpm's where most HP is (i'm guessing around 4800 rpm).
It runs 54 mph on gps running 4200 rpm max, and back then (1977) Glastron claimed the same package with an A impeller and ford 460 ran 55 mph.

We weren't running much at wot in the video, most of it is at cruising speed around 3600 rpm.

Welcome Cor, we've sure enjoyed the video of your outings.  Beautiful boat, professional quality production on the videos, it doesn't get any better than that!

(Unless I was riding in the CV-23  ;D)
