Post by: 80gt on April 15, 2017, 02:01:10 PM
I tried to post an ad here but it would not load, so if it is OK with the moderator, I transferred my Craigs list ad here. I'm a member.
I will sell for less to a club member.

Nice, reasonably priced, should sell fast ...
Copied to GCOTD thread.

1979 Glastron Carlson CVX 16 - $2495 (Meno. Falls)
https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/boa/6089513382.html

Glastron Carlson CVX 16 Deluxe. Very nice original boat. New floor, transom, carpet and seats in 2016. Very nice running 79 Evinrude 100hp with power tilt and trim. Great boat for family fun. 2 new tires on trailer with 0 miles on them. Everything works as it should. The boat turns heads everywhere as it is one of the prettiest hull designs Carlson ever built. The boat runs 45mph and will pull tubes or skiers with ease. If you want to get out on the water this year for not a ton of cash, this boat is for you.

I've never seen an original CVX with front to back seating, looks almost as bad as people that put fishing seats in them. Why cant people keep classic boats original - and yes I've got my cast iron shorts on.

Because upholstery work is expensive. Just the front bucket seats and rear bench alone was almost $1500.00 for my CVX16. That was simply to recover them using the existing frames and foam. And you get very little of the investment back out of it when when you sell it. People put aftermarket seats in simply because they are a lot more affordable.

Och... That hurts :)      I don't fix these boats to be show boats, I like to call them enjoy boats.   We all know how expensive it is to make them look like new.. No hard feelings..

@HEMI RT.  Pony up the $1500 and I'll switch the seats just to make YOUR day.

I bought the boat with the non original seats because it was what I could afford.  Club Member Bryan restored the boat and did a FINE job.  Even with the back to backs he still rescued a classic Carlson boat and kept it out of the land fill where most of them end up, and is that not the mission of this club?
Oh..and bye the way, the boat sold today for the asking price.... so I guess it's new owner was OK with Bryans work as well.

p.s.  Hey bryan, i did switch the registration and boat numbers to my name and Wisconsin numbers before i sold it!

I did Gregg,  Gave him the wed address so he can sign up.  When the guy left the driveway with it you could not pry the smile off his face. It went to a good home!  Now to get the CV 16 V8 sea worthy.....
