Title: Hello all from Rochester
Post by: JDJ on March 02, 2012, 11:48:24 AM
Hey, I guess this is the way it works on these forums right? My name is Jared and I live just outside of Rochester in Kasson. I have 3 kids 2 boys and a girl. The girl is off at school in Mankato. I was born and raised in Fairmont and we live to be on the water. Growing up we had an old larson but one of my friends had this sweet looking Glastron. I have always thought they were the coolest looking boats. I have had many different boats through the years fishing boats, pontoons, a Hurricane with a 200hp Honda on it that was a RIOT. I currently have a Carver 3607 which we slip at the lower marina in Wabasha. We are looking for a ssv 151 or a GT150/160. something small but fast and fun. A couple of the guys in our marina have ssv 151s and they the coolest looking little boats.

I look forward to checking out the rest of this site and getting to know everyone.

Welcome!

My sister in law lives in Mantorville...well, just North of K-M High School.  So I'm up there 3-4x a year.

The GT's are out there.  In fact, there's an absolutely mint one for sale on the national site.

Welcome!

I'd say Craigslist would be the place to go. I'm in Woodbury (just outside St. Paul and have a sister in law in Rochester as well) and there are great boats for good prices if you expand the net to mid Wisconsin-ish. I've noticed the Rochester area either doesn't have many for sale or the owners know what they have and are holding onto them!

Welcome!

I wonder if I know your sis in-law? I live just south of the schools. I have found a GT that is in nice shape but cant get to it for a while. I am really interested in the CV16SS for sale in this forum.

Hi Jared.
Definitely keep up with the site.  These guys do a great job keeping the members up to date with boats that are available ... but be ready, because when they're priced right they will move quickly.
I've got a GT 150 and it is fun.  It is my second Glastron.  I've got two kids, 5 & almost 9 - the boat is tight with everyone on board.  I've got two buckets and a bench across the back ... with 12 gallons fuel & two kids & the Mercury 1150 hanging on the a**, my stern rub rail sits right at the waterline.
You've joined the right group.  These guys offer tremendous support, ideas, encouragement.
