Nice job!  Not to get too far out ahead but have you determined whether the current flake gelcoat is “recoverable” or do you need to re-do?  If re-do, will you go w flake?

I see a big problem, distributor is on the wrong side of the engine!  You're right, that is tight.   Is power steering possible or external?

Will engine cover fit ?
There are pictures of Chris's CV16V8 with SBC motor, and cover just seems to be lifted up a little.

Ha!
I just brought an old style transom assembly with power steering home from the farm it won’t work the way it’s set up because the right bank is set to the back so the starboard side riser only has about 2 inches of clearance off the transom

Engine cover will need to be made approximately 3 inches taller, and widened out a little bit in the front to accommodate the manifolds

Would converting to center rise help in both exhaust routing and power steering/transom plate issues?

Will the stainless exhaust I sent up with Shawn give you a bit more free space?

Yes, but I’m not willing to pay the price, tough to find used

The risers are too tall so I would need to rework them as well as the flanges.
