CV16 from Manitoba
« on: April 29, 2020, 09:47:28 PM »
Hello from Manitoba, new to Glastron boats, my son and I picked up a 1972 CV16 that needs a complete restoration.  I was sent here by a helpful member of a Glastron Facebook group after getting help ID’ing the model of my boat.  I’m here to learn how to redo our rotten sunfaded boat.

It would take considerable time to describe the entire process to restore a Glastron here.  The good news is the 16 is a good father/son project.   Here is what I would suggest, 1st would be to look over the multiple threads on this site related to restorations.  Everything is there from tear down to final finishing.   The best advice I could offer is to plan the restoration, time, and costs before starting.   Is there a useable motor for the project?  Armed with the knowledge of how to attack it, the materials on hand, and some help can go a long ways towards completion.   I've never seen quite that paint scheme before, maybe Gregg knows if that was a factory scheme?  Good luck, and be sure to post a thread on your project with pictures.
