It's been a while! Greetings Everyone!
« on: March 10, 2021, 09:23:20 AM »
Hey everyone!  It's been a long time since I've been amongst your ranks.  I'm fairly certain that I've never had the chance to meet many of you. Sadly I've been without a water ready Glastron for some time, and Jason's CV-23 was the last boat that I owned while I was active with the club. I've worked on a couple since then, but never had something that I took out.

A lot has changed in the last 6 years or so since I've been connected. I'm living back in North St. Paul again.  I'm getting married to Kate in June (after being together for 8 years), and taking an awesome trip to the Fl. Keys for a couple weeks. I'm actually renting a boat for 5 days out of Marathon Key, so that's going to be awesome! Not a Glastron though...

Most of you that know me remember that I was working as a Chef, and then in Automotive sales management.  I went through a pretty rough patch in 2011-2014 following my divorce and wound up struggling with alcohol addiction and a lot of depression.  Truthfully, that's what took me away from the club, and from my relationships with many of you. I feel bad about that since as we built the club up some 12 years ago, many of you were as close as family.

So...  I've been healthy and happy for quite a while now, and have been blessed with the opportunity to start and own a Farmers Insurance Agency.  I love what I do, and I'm hoping that it is going to afford me the ability to get out on the water this coming year and beyond. In fact, I would love to have my agency sponsor the club in some fashion. Maybe some of you have some ideas on how I could support the club!

After all these years, it's so great to see that the club is thriving! I never would have imagined that our little group of 10-15 people back in 2009ish would have grown to what it is now.

If anyone has any thoughts or questions, feel free to email me at bbergstrom1@farmersagent.com

Cheers everyone! Look forward to talking to everyone!

WOW! Nice to hear from you Brian and thanks for the update. Glad you are doing much better. I think many of the original members would agree that the club has just not been the same without you. Hopefully you can find a Glastron and get back on the water.

Ya!  it's good to be back. We all go thru some dark times now and then.  All part of the ride I suppose. Yes, I love the club. I miss the good ole' days, and I hope to get involved again soon!  I almost snagged that $300 V-152 in Farmington with no motor.  Seems like I'm getting good at projects!   :-)  I'm sure something will come along though.  Keeping the eyes open.

Sure do wish I still had the CVX-20. It was tough to watch that one drive away.

I'm living in North St Paul again, so maybe this summer Kate and I can swing over to hudson and catch a ride on the 21!

Cheers!
Brian

Welcome back Brian. Life has it's four seasons, and I bet most of the members here have gone through all of them. Hope you find that perfect boat. Until then, hitch a ride with any of the members.

I suggested to the planners that they could do a vintage boat friday (one friday out of the summer)... in addition to the cars, ... they said no.  jeepers.  said it's a car show.  not a boat show.  So much for open mindedness.
