Drive Shower for MC1 - Anyone use one?
« on: July 25, 2023, 11:15:13 AM »
I changed my drive oil and it was burnt. I put about 30 hours on it over two seasons. Not long WOT jaunts, maybe 5 miles at a time on and off the plane if not shorter trips. This leads me to thinking the drive is getting warm and that I should look into adrive shower. I see there is one for the Alpha one, but requires cutting off the loop on my bearing cap.

Show my what you have done on your MC1 drive!

Thanks!

BTW its nice to have the boats running rough to actually change the oil and keep going out...

I made some a few years back. I think they fit on a pre-alpha drive. I know Jeff got one and Mike got one. Maybe they could post a picture. I have the pattern laying in my garage somewhere.

I used this one on my 888, it's from hardin marine: https://www.hardin-marine.com/p-11570-crossfire-dual-port-drive-shower.aspx

I didn't want to mess with the bearing cap either, all I had to modify was the height of the included spacers for the top mounting brackets.
