I've worked out a "reunion" rate with the Honey Creek main lodge, for those of you interested in staying there - or for those wives who want to come but don't want to sleep in a tent.
The normal rate of $209 per night has been reduced to $159 + tax.
If you stay at the lodge, you can get a boat slip for $5 per night. $10 per night if you are not staying there, but wish to tie up. The normal slip rate is $20 per night.
They have made discounts available for the cottages, but I don't believe we have anyone interested in staying there.
To receive the discount, simply tell the person making the reservation that you are part of the Return To Rathbun group. If you have already made a reservation, you can call back and ask that you be moved into the group rate.
I think there was interest from Joe (84Carlson) and Tom Stibbe about staying in the lodge. Perhaps Erik, from Iowa City as well.

I may be able to convince the wife depending on what we can work out with the kids.
Having a discount available may help!
Then again the comradery of the campground is always a plus! We'll see.

No trains...and let's hope that one bird died over the winter. I actually slept pretty good there.
and...you do need to get that new boat out!

I do at that! A run or two before hand to get used to her and then a premiere to the group at Rathbun? That would be awesome!
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Josh, would really be nice to see you and your new ride at Rathbun.

You simply need to book at the hotel ... hang out on the campground until bedtime, then shuttle across the water to your slip, tie off and go inside to bed ...
There's an indoor "water park" that you get access to when you stay at the lodge. The kids might enjoy that, depending on weather (which hasn't been very dependable, this spring).

Good points Dan! I'll talk to Sarah when she gets off work tonight.

Thanks Dan for the information, the discount may help on the planning. I 'm tentatively planning on coming over Friday, I have not finalized anything yet, extremely busy at work...I did reserve a campsite, should we decide to camp, but we may do a night at the lodge...I'll keep you posted...

Well what with Sarah having to work all day Friday (last day for teachers) and friends kids graduating from high school (open houses), the meet is just not in the cards again this year.
Sucks as I was really looking forward to seeing you guys again and don't think Red Wing will work either as my 10 year anniversary is August 16th, but that's life right? :(
No one's graduating next year as the next kid is going to be a freshman so I'll firmly plant the 3rd annual on the calendar and keep it there!
