From TCPBA Power Boat Racing Facebook Site:
I'm so sad to announce that our friend, boat family member and founder of our race club, Howard Pipkorn passed away early this morning. He and his wife Susan recently moved to Texas and continued Howard's fight with pancreatic cancer.
Howard had the vision and desire to start the Twin City Powerboat Racing club back in 1963 and continued to promote and race all the way into 2019.
Many of us have had the pleasure to get to know Howard and race with him. Howard is the reason many of our wives or girlfriends get angry at us because of our passion for boats and racing. His passion for powerboats and racing was contagious and he recruited many of us racers throughout the 56 years.
Howard was known for his innovation and a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed in our racing family. Howard has touched the lives of so many people.
May his spirit continue to inspire us all to not only race but to be good people in this world and take time to laugh along the way.
Godspeed Howard Pipkorn! May you always hold a checkered flag in all of our hearts!
