Looking for a new winter project
« on: September 14, 2011, 08:59:32 PM »
I've been pondering a winter project, I would like to find an old Glastron, but this Fleetform showed up on C/L.  I've  seen a few on the internet but never around these parts.  Any thoughts, he is asking $650 but I bet I could buy it for $450.

Thoughts

Well...there's a total rebuilder CVZ-19 in Appleton, WI for $150...no trailer...I'm awaiting pictures.

It'd be a parts boat for me, but if someone wants to bring it back to life, I'm all for stepping aside.

I may be interested in the CVZ that is what I was looking for.  I just bought a CV-16 for a project I go pick it up friday. Dont think it needs much work as it has been stored covered inside for the last 10-15 years post or send me some pics like i said i may be interested.
I think this has become an addiction.

That looks like the 16' Commodore. I've got a '59 Spitfire which was a Mpls made knock off of the Fleetform.

That looks sweet Dane. Did you restore it or buy it that way? Looks like new.

Ross,

My Dad bought a new Spitfire like this as a surprise Christmas present for the family and it led to the purchase of our lake cabin. My oldest brother searched for long time to find a boat like our first one. He found a nice yellow one that was the right model and year and had it redone in blue a couple years before he died. I bought the boat from my sister in law to honor the memory of my brother and father.

I like the lines on that. It looks well built. Is it heavy?
Looks like a long reach back to tilt the motor up!

That boat really reminds me of the lines on the new GT160.
