Thanks Guy's
I spent some time checkin it out today, I turned on the battery switch, turned on the key and the volt meter showing 12 volts, what a surprize, everything works, even the clock. I dropped the lower unit, put a new impeller in it, sure enough the old one was set, this motor has not been started in almost two years, I pumped the throttle about 5 times, hit the starter and it fired, pumped it a few more times and hit the starter, it fired up and ran perfect, charging 14 1/2 volts, good oil pressure, idled right down to 800 rpm smoothly. The motor oil looks like it was just changed, all the little rubber caps are still on the grease zerks, and one pump of the grease gun forced grease out of the pivot pins, this thing has obviously been taken good care of. Love it !
We are going to have our Holidays boat parade Friday night, on the Oklahoma river, I'm going to take this one, make it look like a Christmas tree.
and Yes, Doran, I'm thinking about a name for it, the Fox has a couple suggestions, Long Wait ... Wild Thing ... Rock & Roll ... Senior Moment ... but I kinda like this one Rear View, cause I'm going to put a name in the steps, like Red's Gold was. I sent picture's to Art Carlson, asked him for suggestions for a name, thought he'd get a grin out of that, so I'll wait till I hear back from him before I choose a name for sure.
I never thought I'd like to say " Jerry is right" but now I'm hoping I get a decent sale on the other boat with-Out the stroker motor, put one of the other's in it, I think it would Really look good in this baby, but no, I don't plan on modifying the transom, well ... not now anyway, maybe some time later.
