Cool Red! I remember the pics. Didn't you'n the Fox visit him awhile back?

I'm diggin' that cover. That's the way I make 'em. Luv the fuel fill access flap.

Good luck with the sale of Reds Gold. Will this one be called "Reds Green"?

You mean you don't have power seats in your boat Gregg?

I love the boat Red, but there ain't a soul on the board that thinks it's you. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

considering how long you've looked, and how badly you've wanted one in this color and condition, I can't imagine one that is more "you" Red. Congrats! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

See...now I like 'Red Mist' or 'Mr. Misty' (DQ reference)...but I'm sure Red's got his own ideas...I'm also wondering if there will be a new transom just so he can adjust the angle...

Thanks Guy's
I spent some time checkin it out today, I turned on the battery switch, turned on the key and the volt meter showing 12 volts, what a surprize,  everything works, even the clock.  I dropped the lower unit, put a new impeller in it, sure enough the old one was set, this motor has not been started in almost two years, I pumped the throttle about 5 times, hit the starter and it fired, pumped it a few more times and hit the starter, it fired up and ran perfect, charging 14 1/2 volts, good oil pressure, idled right down to 800 rpm smoothly.  The motor oil looks like it was just changed, all the little rubber caps are still on the grease zerks, and one pump of the grease gun forced grease out of the pivot pins,  this thing has obviously been taken good care of.    Love it  !

We are going to have our Holidays boat parade Friday night, on the Oklahoma river, I'm going to take this one, make it look like a Christmas tree.

and Yes, Doran, I'm thinking about a name for it, the Fox has a couple suggestions,  Long Wait ... Wild Thing ... Rock & Roll ... Senior Moment ... but I kinda like this one  Rear View, cause I'm going to put a name in the steps, like Red's Gold was.  I sent picture's to Art Carlson, asked him for suggestions for a name, thought he'd get a grin out of that, so I'll wait till I hear back from him before I choose a name for sure.

I never thought I'd like to say " Jerry is right" but now I'm hoping I get a decent sale on the other boat with-Out the stroker motor, put one of the other's in it, I think it would Really look good in this baby, but no, I don't plan on modifying the transom,  well ... not now anyway,  maybe some time later.

If thats the original motor i would leave it alone. That looks like a nice un-molested original beauty.

How about "Red's Emerald"?

I like the idea of leaving it all original alright, and I plan on doing just that, if I change out the motor's I will keep the original for sure, the boat is only showing 208.2 hours on the meter, and it works, the condition of the boat indicates that may be correct, but I think I could sneak the stroker in there, with a Gen II drive with-out taking much flak, I also like the idea of show being able to .. Go !

I don't know, we'll see what the sale of the gold one brings.  I won't build another stroker for it, but I could certainly pump up a mild 350 for it, with-out changing it's appearence.

I want to put a name on it that has 2 words, 4 or 5 letters in each word, and put the name in the steps on the back like "Red's Gold"  was, thats the only thing about the name.

I like the idea of putting in the stroker at some point and having the original for...whatever. Of course if you get a buyer for the motor at the right price, that would make the decision easier. Then maybe just "slighty" modify the original or better yet, Barbs old motor and keep the original, "original"

Yes you want the name 2 words and fairly short to fit in that space and fairly easy to read as you are blasting by. I am not very imaginative when it comes to stuff like that. You'll come up with something.
If you went with "Red Green" you'd have to put duck tape on it somewhere!  ;D

It's funny...  I am usually the type of person that says that an all origional (or origional appearance with minor cosmetic corrections) is the only way to go.  BUT...  for some reason, I really like the idea of the big stroker in that new boat.

I think that it's more about knowing Red than it is about the boat.  You know how they say many things look like their owners. Well, I think that's Red's boats are a reflection of him.  I think that knowing all that we do about Red, it would be shameful to shakle him to a stock motor.  For a guy that has been building strokers for 40 years, it would be a travisty if his dream boat doesn't have the culmination of what he can do!

My basic point is that knowing that Red can build a motor like the one he just finished, and then settling for the stock motor would be like me having access to all the best culinary ingredients in the world and then making a meal from Spam and tatertots.

Red, my vote is that you leave that boat looking origional on the exterior, and drop in that new motor and make it go like a stuck pig!
