Finally !
« on: March 23, 2011, 12:13:45 AM »
I got the stroker back from the machine shop, it's been "next week" for the last 4 weeks, but Finally I got to bring it home.  We did change a couple things, we used the Scat crank, but went with Eagle rods, the are 70 grams lighter than the scat rods, and a little stronger, and a light weight harmonic balancer and flywheel,  I didn't weigh the dampener, but the flywheel weighs a little less than 25 pounds. They decked the block flush with the piston throw, machined the front of the block to get the two more bolt holes for the early model timing cover and inserted the pins, they sized the rings individually to each cylinder, balanced the rotaing assy, and assembled the short block.

I set the heads, exhaust manifolds,  and intake plenum on it for the pictures, realizing that the plenum intake won't clear the EMI ehaust ... Grrrr ... the only solution for that is to build a 1" spacer, raising the top half of the plenum to clear the starboard riser and cooling hose, thats about all the issue I'm going to tolerate with this injection system, one more issue and I'll sell it and put a carborator on this baby.

I'm use to seeing a dome on the pistons. What's the compression ratio.

I must not have been paying attention to the pics when you got this setup, I didn't realize it was a tunnel ram setup. Very nice! I know you like your carbs, but if you can get this injection system figured out, you should have a nice turnkey, no tuning system. Keep us posted. Lookin real good!

That thing is huge.  Burnin Daylights little 357 is on an engine stand in the shop next to that stroker and it looks like a little dwarf mini me sitting there.  (of course without all the chrome).

they said the compression ratio is near 11.0 with the 64cc chambers ...  I like seeing the domes too Jerry, and the chrisp sound, but I want to be able to run pump gas, the ecm will allow me to do that, and, if I have any issue with the efi I can carborate it and still run the pump gas, but with the 2.02 valves I don't figure it will be very economical carborated.

Looks suweet Red! Bummer bout the plenum/exhaust manifold 'issue'. An unforseen circumstance. May be a stupid question but might could ya cut the plenum & weld a wedge in there vs lifting it? Guess it really don't matter much. That plug & play ECU'll make the appropriate adjustments.

Can't wait to hear it bark.

That is a beautiful beast. It seems a shame to hide it under a cover.
