Sea Trial Successful
« on: April 11, 2011, 12:01:08 PM »
After cleaning up the points and re-installing the plugs removed for winterizing we were able to take out the CVX-16SS. We got to Carter Lake at the same time the Wichita State Rowing team was throwing their Coxswain (I had to ask.  That's the people that yell stroke!, stroke!) in the water after sweeping the competition.  Interesting to watch but every minute was excruciating waiting for them to clear the docks so we could put in.  Finally we got in the water.  It was overcast, windy and chilly but that didn't dampen our spirits.  We tore up and down the lake for over an hour.  It ran great and the temp stayed right where it needed to be.  I'm not sure of the speed since the speedo didn't work but we were flying.  The ride was surprisingly smooth.  I was expecting it to be rough with the wind blown rough water.  There was only one other boat on the water.  We jumped their wake a few times.  Yeehah!  About half way through our run the sun came out and the wind died down.  The gods were smiling down upon us.  I managed to get a few pics on my phone.  Here's my favorite...

Awesome Tim, pretty soon I'll be back on the water again.
What engine is in that boat, a Merc 3.0?

Cool pic! Glad the boat ran well for you. Sorry to hear about the rowing club. Yeah we got a couple of them 'round here too. Urp.

My advice in dealing with this narcissistic overblown cult of kayakers is to ram them at full speed. And hit em where it hurts. Aim for the Coxswain ...!
