David may have more props ...
« on: June 24, 2012, 12:40:08 PM »
But I got him beat in gearcases. This makes 4. Now if'n we can just get one of 'em to work ...? Heh heh

Spied this one pop up on Clist last night. Called the guy'n set up an appoinment for this AM. Drove up to Siesta Key in this friggin Tropical Storm, that was fun. Well at least no other idiots were on the road? Anyway paid $100 bucks for the case'n two alum props.

Shifts into fwd & reverse, shaft(s) rotate okay. 'Course we won't know til we open her up. Came off a '93 140. Ironically the motor expired due to VRO failure. Count your blessings David.

Carry on.

edit. Here's the gear outa my '83 140. Eww, yucky!

Hope your are back on the road shortly Doug. I know the feeling of getting just that one part fixed so that the whole unit can be fixed. We need a NASCAR support trailer with extra powerheads, lower units, props, cotter pins, and an assortment of stainless steel nuts and bolts.

Dougs tip of the day: Never take the length of your shaft for granted ...  Turns out this gearcase is off a longshaft motor! Duhhh. Why didn't I notice that. Or think about it beforehand? Drrr.
