Rhinelander and Eagle River WI
« on: July 06, 2012, 07:57:00 PM »
Spent the last week in Rhinelander and Eagle River WI. Thought i'd share a few pictures.

The old V172 ran great. Wish I would have gotten more pictures of the actual boat!

The pic of the loons is just awesome!

Glad you had a great time!

Our vacation we're on now would be great for the boat (lake Michigan but a protective bay mainly) but certainly not with carb problems! Maybe need a bigger boat too!

Here are some more pics. I was also in Eagle River (and Land O Lakes) this past week.

Nice pics too! We didn't make it to the boat lift this year but have in the past. The three lakes and eagle river is one of my favorite places to boat. Too bad we missed each other.

The first of my pics is from our cabin on Lake Thompson in Rhinelander.

If you can'nt always join the Glastron group for the weekend river trips because you are going up to your cabin, we'll understand.

Nice cabin! Hope to see you on the Eagle River chain sometime. Another place I like to go boating is the Minocqua chain of lakes.

Been to Minocqua but never on the water. I will have to make an effort to check that area out next!

Looks like there is a river connecting Minocqua to Tomahawk lake. Can you boat through that?

My ski cabin is in Bessimer, about 45 Min NE from there, we go up for a week every summer.  Usually we spend a day on Superior, a day at the Porkie's and a day in Minaqua, great area lots of large lakes connected.

It would be a great place for a rally.

Yes you can boat on that river to and from Tomahawk Lake. If you are boating south from Minocqua to Tomahawk Lake, watch closely (just before getting to Mid Lake) for the turn you need to make to get to the connecting river. It's real easy to miss that turn. There is a great boat friendly restaurant (sorry I can't remember the name of the place) at the north end of Tomahawk Lake where the river starts. You'll easily see it. It is very popular with boaters.

I'm feeling left out ... I don't have a cabin in MN ...

At least my parents house is big enough to hold the family and let us spread out.
