Boat show
« on: January 13, 2018, 12:50:24 PM »
If you go to the boat show talk to Bruce at the Glaston booth. Very knowledgeable and has been with the company for 44 years. Knew Art, Bob Hammond, as well as others personally. Was nice talking to him.

I saw some other neat things there too like custom colored carpet!!

Looks like we need to find a couple m&w turbo kits for our 140s. But I doubt that 240hp is obtainable with a turbo.

I would like to know the specs of the build.

The motor was at "Sam's Marine"   ( http://www.samsmarineandperformance.com ) Display at the boat show. He had a bunch of boat engines there. Nice guy to talk too. Didn't sound like he ever dyno'd the motor but it is a built from the ground up 140. I would be REALLY surprised if it gets 240 but who knows. Sure wish someone would get there hands on one and test it out. I know it won't fit under the cover of the CV16SS. Said he has 3 more of the turbo kits.....

I'm surprised we don't see more turbos in marine use, but I suppose there are intricacies in turbo setups that do not apply to crank driven superchargers.   Would like to see one and learn more about it.

I have seen a couple turbo’s in some older cv’s and I let them pass because of the turbo problems I’ve had on a car I use to own.. but l’m sure some will show up on this now. And I can’t find any of the old pictures to post. One was in a 73 Cv-16ss with a mercruiser I’m sure of. Also it had a cover that looked like the v-8 cv cover. Could have been someone’s “custom” work.
