Title: C500 Update
Post by: V153 on December 01, 2019, 03:21:57 PM
As some may know I bought the C500 back from Mark. Just about rigged. Hooking up steering lines, and wiring's all that's left. Stay tuned.

Motor is wired btw. Grommet was missing. Bought one from a dude in Key West. Took forever to get here.

What was the other jack plate you had pictured on FB post ?
Never seen a fuel fill on dash .. Putting a ash tray under it ? … LOL
The textured blue vinyl on seats is cool, and the pattern he did .. Looks great !
That boat is going to scare you Doug !

Only other jack plate I have is the 4" manual on the Fallison? Ya the fill is kinda there by necessity. And I didn't want it on the deck. Ashtray no. Cigarette lighter yes. Hell I just toss my butts to the Manatee ... Seats are what Ron originally had in his CVX 16. My boys Greg and Guy redid em for me. Yeah I dig the way they reversed the pattern on one to make em symmetrical. Think Mark said it best, "It'll be as fast as he is brave" ...

So, did I miss the maiden voyage?  By the look of the "next years calendar shot" thread picture... did you splash it?

That's plenty fast in a 16 footer, but certain there is more.  Was hoping to get a report as to how it handles.    To Doug and other OB experts, when using the hydraulic plate, do you find the best setting, then make up a fixed plate to save weight?  Or is it something you always have to adjust?

He said it likes lift .. didn't like trim ..
I'll tell him to stop by and answer questions ..

Handles good. Feels real solid. With the motor low it want's to chine walk with too much trim. Now with the bow tank full it want's to porpoise at elevated motor height. We'll figure it out.

Looks like it runs well in the video.  I actually expected it too have a biigest roost, but he did say it likes height over trim.  A bit depressing to see boats running in December and mine have been winterized for 2 months.

Anything above top of the motor is wasted thrust.

Ran like a charm yesterday. Did discover a lil leak. Seems to be coming in around the splash well drain. Have to crawl in there and goop it up.

Beautiful boat, I can't stop looking at it.
And I bet it's even more fun on the water.
