Lunch with Tonka Jim
« on: January 03, 2012, 06:42:32 PM »
Had the pleasure of breaking bread with my ole buddy Jim Barrett earlier this afternoon. We enjoyed the gastronomical delights of the End Zone pub 'round the corner from the shop.

Fyi when Jim says "late lunch" he means it. Wouldya believe that knucklehead got his addresses mixed up and drove north right past my shop in Englewood, all the way to my house in Venice. 'Bout an hour detour. Well 'least he got to see the Baja in person ...?

Ah don't be too hard on him, he did buy lunch. Thanks to "Cold Front Kelly" too. True to her name the temp's 42 and falling. 'Preciate it Kel ...

Nice to see ya again Jim. Glad you finally picked out a color for that bimini boot ...

Jim is our goodwill ambassador. We have deployed him to Florida, Wisconsin, Maplegrove, Red Wing, and various rivers to generally tow stranded boats, organize help groups, lend equipment, and who knows what other good deeds in this non paid monetary position, but with many rewards both to him and the recipients. Jim and Kelly are also known to bring more than enough food to events to share with others.

Maybe they could stay a little longer. It's been really warm here without Kelly in town.

Yo Gregg & Dave: I agree. Jim is the manbassador.

Y'know what I like best about meeting/seeing my Glastron brothers & sisters in person? No need for foreplay. We get to skip all that greeting and salutation bs and start talkin boats! Heh heh heh

Doug, in Tim's defense? I remember watching Nancy drive by your shop after being there only a few hrs earlier.  Ever think of getting a larger sign?  (maybe she was driving too fast in the 'Vette to get stopped in time maybe? hehehe)
Gregg, I've been working on Doug the past 2 years trying to get him to drive to Indy and ride the rest of the way with me, he did say last year that he was pretty busy so I let him slide on that one. (little does he know I really need another driver for the trip)
