Naw.  Have fun with it.  Put a top-fuel racing tach in it.  Let everyone think your motor red-lines at 10,000 RPM.  Tell people it is a special racing motor.  Enjoy the envy.   ;D

You never saw a tach on a Top/Fuel Dragster. They don't shift. My C/G Dragster had one because I shifted at 10 grand. Have you ever ridden with Red? He has a 6 grand tach that just bounces on the 6 all the time.

Hey thanks for all the help guys. Even though it was in the upper 30's i managed to fire the old 950 up for the first time this year. Fired right up! Hooked up my inductive timing light which turns out has a setting where you can switch it between 2 and 4 stroke. Looks like the tach in the dash is fairly accurate. That's good and bad news. Good news is the tach is good. Bad news is my boat is propped correctly and my max speed is still only 30mph!

What size prop are you running on it again?
